Kate Goodyear – Owner

…and one day I awoke, mid twenties, just on the other side of a harsh breakup, stressful job and feeling low. I asked if I could tag along with a friend to her yoga class and my whole life changed. I found something to look forward to, feel good about, a sense of community, peace of mind and so much more! I jumped in with both feet and was soon taking teacher training with some of the greatest teachers around, the staff at Dhyana Yoga!

I teach a Vinyasa flow style in the Ashtanga lineage.  What does that mean? You will be led through a series of postures that flow one into another with hundreds of years of wisdom and alignment behind each posture or asana. We concentrate on the breath and awakening the light that resides within each of us.

My mission is to help others feel the way that my teachers helped me feel. I strive to provide my students with a practice that challenges the body, soothes the mind and revitalizes the spirit, building connection. It is very important to me that students realize that this is more than just exercise but a spiritual practice. I have been blessed with being a lululemon ambassador for the King of Prussia store and traveled to Whistler to participate in the lululemon Ambassador Summit in 2014.

Alyssa Dempsey

One day in my teens during an existential crisis, I decided to shift my focus from competitive sports to a dusty yoga dvd I found in a store. I practiced inconstantly for many years until I found Nectar Yoga Studio where I received my 200 hour training in May 2023. Yoga philosophy and asana not only helps me heal but it gives me a playful outlet to explore body and mind. My goal as an instructor is to share the abundance yoga has given me.

Megan Mayer

Megan discovered yoga in high school while working at a gym, and instantly fell in love. It wasn’t until her mid-20’s that she really became a devoted yogi with a daily practice. Nearly 14 years since her first class, she has ample experience in Vinyasa, 26/2, Core Power, and Yin. However, Vinyasa is where her heart lies. For Megan, yoga is all about the experience of getting to better know yourself and your anatomy. She loves finding a balance between strength and flexibility, both on and off the mat. Her classes focus on that equilibrium between exertion and release. You can expect to flow, sweat, and most importantly: breathe. Come for her creative flows and curated playlists, stay for the deepened mind/body connection. Megan’s passion is introducing the life-changing practice that is yoga into people’s lives the way it was once introduced to her.

Megan McGuirk

Studio Manager – From the mind-body connection of yoga, the creative expression of dance, and the sense of adventure in hiking; movement has always been an important aspect of my life. As a child I dreamed of becoming a school teacher and mother, but after graduating college with a degree in Education and starting a family of my own, I felt lost and had no energy for the things I once enjoyed. Looking for a way to nurture my soul, strengthen my body, and connect with other like minded people, I began to deepen my yoga practice. Soon after, I began feeling calmer, stronger and energetic. Wanting to share these benefits of yoga with others and deepen my own practice, I enrolled in the YTT at Nectar. After this transformational experience, I am excited to support others in their yoga journey which nurtures their mind, body and spirit. I strive to create a welcoming and engaging class while focusing on proper alignment, breath work, and strength. Be prepared to get sweaty, have fun and unwind!

Trey Westphal

Yoga and various philosophical texts entered Trey’s life at a pivotal point during his time in college. He initially used it as a form of alternative exercise and pain relief from hobbies such as snowboarding, rock climbing, and golf. It quickly became clear that the benefits of yoga went far deeper than stretching and strengthening the body.

In 2018, Trey discovered Nectar Yoga studio, and has enjoyed a weekly practice of combining body, mind, and spirit through yoga ever since. After four years of a consistent practice he decided to finally dive into the 200 hour YTT. Trey hopes to help others take aspects of his class in to their own day-to-day lives. His practice will emphasize pranayama, alignment, and philosophical contemplation. He hopes this will help his students venture deep in to their bodies and the subtle energies around it.

Emily Zamojski

As a lifelong athlete, former college lacrosse player and coach, yoga came into my life while I was in grad school in my early 20s and looking for variety in my fitness routine. This was around the same time I realized I had been suppressing anxiety for years. I instantly became hooked on vinyasa not only for the physical benefits but the mental clarity and spiritual connection that came along with it. Yoga truly was my best form of medicine. In the fall of 2022, I decided to enroll in the 200 hour YTT program at Nectar Yoga Studio to better myself and pass the knowledge along to those around me. Life is full of ups and downs – which is what you will experience in my classes, both literally and figuratively. Come ready for an upbeat flow but always expect to slow down as we connect our mind, bodies and souls – balancing our yin and yang. Most importantly, I want you to leave my classes feeling Em-Powered!

Sara Taylor

Sara found yoga as a supplemental treatment for her mental health. Through a consistent Vinyasa practice she experienced newfound physical strength and self-confidence. Sara completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Nectar Yoga Studio in 2023 and is eager to share the countless benefits with her students.

Sara believes that yoga should be accessible, empowering and most importantly fun!

Her favorite thing about Nectar is the community and outside of yoga she likes to crochet and spend time with her two cats

Madison Carter

I discovered Yoga while in college at Penn State. I first sought Yoga as solely a way to “tone”. I had an unhealthy relationship with anxiety and exercise at the time. However, Yoga changed my mindset deeply. It helped me realize what a healthy body image is and helped relax my mind. I found my Yoga home at Dana Hot Yoga in Bala Cynwyd when I started teaching high school social studies in Philadelphia. More than just the poses, the philosophy and community, it became part of my lifestyle.

I enrolled in a 200-week Yoga Teacher Training with Dana Hot Yoga under Lisa Mitchell, with the intention to share the joy that I found in Yoga with others. After graduating in February 2017, I began teaching at Dana Hot Yoga, other places within Philadelphia like Sweat Fitness, Unity Yoga, and working with my school’s sports teams.

In my classes, you will find challenging, yet accessible Vinyasa style classes. Each class is different! There will be a focus on strength and mindfulness.

I live in Phoenixville with my husband, a 1 year old boy, and a golden retriever. I am excited to be a part of the Nectar Yoga community!

Liz Modica

A troubling diagnosis that mandated lifestyle changes motivated Liz to take her first yoga class in January 2020 and her life has been forever changed. Liz wanted to improve her quality of life by focusing on physical health but soon learned there was so much more to yoga. When the pandemic hit, Liz deepened her yoga practice and joined the first of many Learning Circles at Nectar. Those circles piqued Liz’s interest in the spiritual side of yoga and introduced more techniques to improve her mental health. Seeing the power of the practice transform her life, a hunger for more knowledge developed. Liz graduated from Nectar Yoga Studio’s 200 hour YTT program in May 2024 and wishes to transfer what she learned from that first yoga class, all the learning circles, and the YTT programs to the students at Nectar Yoga Studio through her Vinyasa classes.

Emily Forte

Emily’s classes focus on connecting movement with breath, body and mind, and she hopes to give students the space to find their own inspiration during their practice, leaving them rejuvenated and wanting to return to yoga. Her classes encourage personal examination, and her love for the practice shines through in her ability to teach with a concrete yet creative voice. As an educator, she is inspired by all of her students and loves to watch people grow, both on and off their mats. She has taught yoga for 12+ years, and over 2,000 hours of studio, corporate, private, and athlete-centered classes.
Emily has been a dedicated yoga student since 2006, and is continuously surprised at the ways yoga transforms her mind and body. Yoga has allowed Emily to find balance in a fast-paced world, and to enjoy the moment rather than always trying to plan for the future. Emily has completed two, 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Trainings, and also leads teacher trainings, as well as yoga and mindfulness immersions, workshops, retreats, and guest lecture series.

Ashley Nicole Lesko

I started consistently practicing yoga in 2010 while attending college in Boulder, Colorado. I immediately fell in love with the practice and used it to help me through periods of stress, anxiety, and depression. With the intention of self-empowerment and personal growth, I completed a year-long 250 hour teacher training program at the Yoga Life Institute with a focus on developing a consistent meditation practice. I quickly found that yoga and meditation are the keys for cultivating self-awareness, contentment, and long lasting, healthy relationships. I began teaching in 2014 with the intent of sharing the joy and healing that yoga has brought me with others.

In 2018, I took a leap of faith and left my corporate marketing job to travel, teach, and study yoga internationally, most notably in India. When I returned from traveling, I decided to dedicate my life to helping people heal and began my career as a full-time yoga therapist and yoga + meditation instructor. I love to incorporate what I learned while traveling into my classes and look forward to sharing my insights with you in my creative, challenging, yet calming flows.

Upon completion of my 250 hour training, I completed a two-year-long 500 hour training and a three-year long Comprehensive Yoga Therapy (IAYT) training with the Yoga Life Institute. I have additional specific certifications in Yin, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yoga Psychology, Nutrition, and Women’s Fitness. I plan to continue studying yoga and I am committed to a life-time of learning and self-development. As long as I am helping my students, they are helping me, as I believe, “In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.
