Kate Goodyear – Owner

…and one day I awoke, mid twenties, just on the other side of a harsh breakup, stressful job and feeling low. I asked if I could tag along with a friend to her yoga class and my whole life changed. I found something to look forward to, feel good about, a sense of community, peace of mind and so much more! I jumped in with both feet and was soon taking teacher training with some of the greatest teachers around, the staff at Dhyana Yoga!

I teach a Vinyasa flow style in the Ashtanga lineage.  What does that mean? You will be led through a series of postures that flow one into another with hundreds of years of wisdom and alignment behind each posture or asana. We concentrate on the breath and awakening the light that resides within each of us.

My mission is to help others feel the way that my teachers helped me feel. I strive to provide my students with a practice that challenges the body, soothes the mind and revitalizes the spirit, building connection. It is very important to me that students realize that this is more than just exercise but a spiritual practice. I have been blessed with being a lululemon ambassador for the King of Prussia store and traveled to Whistler to participate in the lululemon Ambassador Summit in 2014.

Alyssa Dempsey

One day in my teens during an existential crisis, I decided to shift my focus from competitive sports to a dusty yoga dvd I found in a store. I practiced inconstantly for many years until I found Nectar Yoga Studio where I received my 200 hour training in May 2023. Yoga philosophy and asana not only helps me heal but it gives me a playful outlet to explore body and mind. My goal as an instructor is to share the abundance yoga has given me.

Ashley Rathman

After dabbling in yoga for a few years, Ashley began a consistent practice in 2013 after she moved to Philadelphia, enjoying the calm the practice provided in both her body and mind. After discovering a sought-after sense of
community and contentment at her local studio, she decided to deepen her practice and completed the 250 Hour Foundational Teacher Training Program under the guidance of Corina Benner in 2017 and completed her Yin and Restorative Certifications in 2018, both at Wake Up Yoga in Philadelphia. She is deeply grateful to all her mentors and teachers along the path.

Ashley’s classes are slow and sweet, settling into the breath first and using that as a tool to connect to the body and a deeper sense of Self. Ashley hopes to instill a feeling of calm and connection on the mat by guiding those who practice to meet themselves exactly where they are and then encouraging them to find their edges with curiosity, awareness and compassion.

Megan Mayer

Megan discovered yoga in high school while working at a gym, and instantly fell in love. It wasn’t until her mid-20’s that she really became a devoted yogi with a daily practice. Nearly 14 years since her first class, she has ample experience in Vinyasa, 26/2, Core Power, and Yin. However, Vinyasa is where her heart lies. For Megan, yoga is all about the experience of getting to better know yourself and your anatomy. She loves finding a balance between strength and flexibility, both on and off the mat. Her classes focus on that equilibrium between exertion and release. You can expect to flow, sweat, and most importantly: breathe. Come for her creative flows and curated playlists, stay for the deepened mind/body connection. Megan’s passion is introducing the life-changing practice that is yoga into people’s lives the way it was once introduced to her.

Christin Salazar

Christin started practicing yoga casually in 2015 to de-stress and get some physical exercise. As her practice grew, Christin became more interested in the spiritual and therapeutic aspects of yoga and was able to find a great deal of peace, safety, and acceptance during her time on the mat. As someone who is passionate about mental health and self-care, Christin has experienced countless benefits from practicing yoga, and this has been an integral part of her own trauma recovery and healing journey. After benefiting immensely from a consistent home practice during the pandemic, Christin decided the next best step in her yoga journey was to share her passion for yoga by becoming a teacher. She will be graduating from Nectar Yoga Studio’s 200 hour teacher training in 2022.

Christin is trained in the vinyasa style of yoga and recognizes the countless physical and mental benefits of connecting the breath to body movement and awareness. Her classes are designed to be accessible for all levels and include creative flows, combined with opportunity for intuitive movement throughout class.

Christin lives in Phoenixville (born and raised) along with her husband and two daughters.

Katie Bean

As a lifelong learner and teacher in numerous capacities, Katie’s passion has always been education.  After graduating with a master’s degree in education, she found an amazing job opportunity in Washington, DC.  But after only a few years, physical symptoms of stress and exhaustion began to show. This is when she was introduced to the healing power of yoga.

Now she educates others about the importance of holistic health and the power of recovery through yoga.  Katie values the lessons that are discovered on the mat that can be brought into life off the mat and highlights these connections in her classes.  Her trauma-informed vinyasa classes and slow flows incorporate yoga texts and teachings that give students insights on how yoga can heal the mind, body and spirit.

Megan McGuirk

Studio Manager – From the mind-body connection of yoga, the creative expression of dance, and the sense of adventure in hiking; movement has always been an important aspect of my life. As a child I dreamed of becoming a school teacher and mother, but after graduating college with a degree in Education and starting a family of my own, I felt lost and had no energy for the things I once enjoyed. Looking for a way to nurture my soul, strengthen my body, and connect with other like minded people, I began to deepen my yoga practice. Soon after, I began feeling calmer, stronger and energetic. Wanting to share these benefits of yoga with others and deepen my own practice, I enrolled in the YTT at Nectar. After this transformational experience, I am excited to support others in their yoga journey which nurtures their mind, body and spirit. I strive to create a welcoming and engaging class while focusing on proper alignment, breath work, and strength. Be prepared to get sweaty, have fun and unwind!

Michele Moyer

For many years I was aware of some benefits from a yoga practice but never really invested myself to understand and experience more. In the fall of 2020 I was introduced to Vinyasa Yoga. I was immediately hooked. I was drawn to the physical aspect and had so much fun gaining new skills, building strength, and restoring my body. I quickly learned there is so much more to the practice as I began to find more openness and vulnerability within myself. From all that my teachers shared with me, I was inspired to study more and learn to teach yoga as soon as I could! After graduating from my teacher training program in May of 2022, I began to teach immediately in my home and then reached out yoga communities in the area. It has been a great joy in my life as I am able to connect my students to their bodies, through breath and movement and hopefully, in mind and spirit, having a fun yoga adventure along the way!

Trey Westphal

Yoga and various philosophical texts entered Trey’s life at a pivotal point during his time in college. He initially used it as a form of alternative exercise and pain relief from hobbies such as snowboarding, rock climbing, and golf. It quickly became clear that the benefits of yoga went far deeper than stretching and strengthening the body.

In 2018, Trey discovered Nectar Yoga studio, and has enjoyed a weekly practice of combining body, mind, and spirit through yoga ever since. After four years of a consistent practice he decided to finally dive into the 200 hour YTT. Trey hopes to help others take aspects of his class in to their own day-to-day lives. His practice will emphasize pranayama, alignment, and philosophical contemplation. He hopes this will help his students venture deep in to their bodies and the subtle energies around it.

Emily Zamojski

As a lifelong athlete, former college lacrosse player and coach, yoga came into my life while I was in grad school in my early 20s and looking for variety in my fitness routine. This was around the same time I realized I had been suppressing anxiety for years. I instantly became hooked on vinyasa not only for the physical benefits but the mental clarity and spiritual connection that came along with it. Yoga truly was my best form of medicine. In the fall of 2022, I decided to enroll in the 200 hour YTT program at Nectar Yoga Studio to better myself and pass the knowledge along to those around me. Life is full of ups and downs – which is what you will experience in my classes, both literally and figuratively. Come ready for an upbeat flow but always expect to slow down as we connect our mind, bodies and souls – balancing our yin and yang. Most importantly, I want you to leave my classes feeling Em-Powered!

Kaylee Braithwaite

Kaylee truly believes in the powerful mind-body connection of movement with breath. In her class, expect to enter your flow state as we release tension both physically and mentally. Challenge yourself, nurture the mind, and flow like water as we move through the vibes of curated playlists and mindfully observe our state of mind throughout our practice. Kaylee holds a space that’s always open to connect with others as their true self, both on and off the mat.

Sara Taylor

Sara found yoga as a supplemental treatment for her mental health. Through a consistent Vinyasa practice she experienced newfound physical strength and self-confidence. Sara completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Nectar Yoga Studio in 2023 and is eager to share the countless benefits with her students.

Sara believes that yoga should be accessible, empowering and most importantly fun!
